Why should an ancient book tell me how to live?

What the Bible Says?

"Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path." – Psalm 119:105 NKJV

Three Things to Consider

  1. Old is not the same as outdated.

  2. Human nature hasn't changed: pride, fear, greed, and loneliness are ancient problems.

  3. The God who made us knows how life works best.

Short Answer

Because people haven't changed. Our technology is new, but our problems are ancient: pride, fear, lust, greed, anger, loneliness, and the fear of death. The Bible speaks to the human heart, and the heart hasn't been upgraded. More than that, the Bible comes from the God who designed life. When the manufacturer writes the manual, it's wise to read it. Scripture doesn't trap us in the past. It lights the path in front of us, one step at a time.
