Why does God allow suffering?

What the Bible Says?

"For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it in hope; because the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God." – Romans 8:20-21 NKJV

Three Things to Consider

  1. Suffering entered the world through sin, not through God's design.

  2. God is not distant from suffering; He entered it in Jesus.

  3. God promises to end suffering and work through it now.

Short Answer

This question touches God, creation, sin, and redemption all at once. God didn't create a world of suffering. Suffering entered when humanity rebelled and sin corrupted creation. God hasn't explained every reason He allows each sorrow, but He has shown us His heart. He didn't stay distant from our pain. In Jesus, He entered it, suffering and dying for us. He promises that suffering will not have the last word. Jesus offers forgiveness, healing, hope, and eternal life. And, one day, creation will be set free, and God will wipe away every tear.
