What the Bible Says?

"He said to them, 'But who do you say that I am?' Simon Peter answered and said, 'You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.'"- Matthew 16:15-16 NKJV

Three Things to Consider

  1. Jesus asks everyone the same question He asked Peter.

  2. He is the Christ, God's promised King and Savior.

  3. He is the Son of God, fully God and fully man.

Short Answer

Jesus is the eternal Son of God who became a man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on a cross for sinners, and rose from the dead on the third day. He is the Christ, the King God promised through the prophets. Today He sits at the right hand of the Father, and one day He will return as King. Everyone eventually answers the question Jesus asked Peter: "Who do you say that I am?"
