Can I actually know God?
What the Bible Says?
"And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent." – John 17:3 NKJV
Three Things to Consider
Knowing about God isn't the same as knowing God.
God wants to be known; that's why He sent Jesus.
Relationship begins with faith and grows through His Word, prayer, and His people.
Short Answer
Yes. Not just know about Him, but know Him personally. Jesus defined eternal life as knowing the only true God and Jesus Christ whom He sent. That's relationship language. Sin separated us from God, but Jesus came to bring us back. When you trust Christ, God adopts you as His child and His Spirit lives in you. From there, the relationship grows like any relationship: you listen to Him in His Word, talk to Him in prayer, and spend time with His family, the church.
