Where is my loved one now?
What the Bible Says?
"We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord." – 2 Corinthians 5:8 NKJV
Three Things to Consider
Grief is real, and God meets us in it.
Believers who die are immediately present with the Lord.
When we're unsure, we can trust the Judge of all the earth to do right.
Short Answer
If you're asking this, you're probably grieving, and God is near to you. If your loved one confessed Jesus as Lord. Scripture gives real comfort: to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. They aren't lost, asleep in nothingness, or wandering. They're with Christ, which Paul calls "far better" (Philippians 1:23). If you aren't sure where they stood with God, you can rest in this: God is perfectly just and merciful, and He knew their heart. "Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?" (Genesis 18:25).
